Recbrief Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026. Developer: David Escobar, publishing on the Microsoft Store as “David E”.

For now, the program and its folders are still named ScreenRec, for example %AppData%\ScreenRec and Videos\ScreenRec.

In short: Recbrief records on your PC and keeps everything on your PC. The app does not send recordings, audio, settings, or logs to any server. It has no accounts, ads, analytics, or telemetry.

1. What data the app handles and where it stays

2. Permissions

3. Internet connections

The app does not connect to the internet. Updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store. The Microsoft Store and Windows may collect data under Microsoft's privacy policy, which we do not control.

Recording other people may require their consent, depending on local law. Telling them and asking for permission is the responsibility of the person recording. The app shows this notice before your first recording, and you can open it again from Privacy.

5. Sharing, retention, and deletion

We do not receive your data, so we do not share or sell it. Your files stay on your PC until you delete them. If you share a recording, that is up to you. Uninstalling the Microsoft Store version removes the settings but not your recordings or the log, which you can delete from your recordings folder.

6. This website and the Pro AI waitlist

This section covers recbrief.app, not the app. The website has no accounts, ads, analytics, or trackers.

7. Changes to this policy

We plan a Pro version with AI features such as transcripts and summaries. If any feature sends audio or text to an outside service, we will update this policy before it ships to explain what is sent, to whom, why, and for how long. These features will be optional and used only if you turn them on. Any change will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
